Production Diary Week 4
Week 4
Over the holidays I wrote an essay analysing music videos 3 iconic from the past and 3 up to date music videos discussing how they have changed, how they have stayed the same and how particular theory's have been used. Looking at this has showed me an insight into how much more modernised videos have become and how less performance is being used. If I was to do it again I would add in more old videos to have a reflection of how they have changed.
I then looked at the history of music videos and created a timeline, this has helped me to show how they adapt over time, so I can what things have stayed throughout time that I should use in my video. I also used this to see which videos I can take inspiration from.
I have also created a presentation of what music means for me. I have looked at old artists that influenced me through my childhood, early teens and now. This showed me how my music taste developed and how I have enjoyed things differently helping me understand more how to cater for my target audience when I choose them.
Here are the images from my timeline you can clearly see how we have showed iconic videos from each era, and have explained what makes them so popular including screen shots to help illustrate this.

History of music timeline
As a class we research a timeline of a music video history. This gave me a insight into how music has changed and progressed. My part of the timeline was 1960's 1970's it was good to see how music videos started and how simple they was at first and based on just the performance aspect, and has showed me how much more interesting I can make them now.

My Music Taste
Here I have designed a powerpoint about my music taste, so I can see what music is popular at the moment and also where I can get my inspiration from. I found out that my music taste varies from many different genres, so plan to create a questionnaire to see which artist and genres my target audience like so that I know where to take inspiration from.

Production Diary Week 3
Week 3
This week we begun editing out Britney video together, we did this by trying to match it up to the music and the real video as much as possible. I think these linked up well in the length and mood of the shots, but the lip syncing was slightly out, we did our best with this trying to cut the dancing shots to make out lip syncing fit in more. From doing this editing it has improved my skills with Premier Pro and also shown me our exact we have to be with out timings.
In this video you can see how much we have linked up in the lip syncing shots I think we did this well at the end with the blond girl singing to the camera, although she was nervous so decided to have the camera static so nobody was watching her.
